About The Position
The BRIC Cleanroom Student Assistant will assist the cleanroom manager in overseeing the daily upkeep of the cleanroom. This includes cleaning surfaces and floors, organizing supplies, putting away glassware and supplies, refilling chemical bottles and other supplies, maintaining shared lab spaces, and retrieving packages and materials from the BSB Chemical stockroom. The assistant will also help train undergraduate and graduate students on the use of research instruments and machines within the cleanroom, ensuring their proper use. These duties require compliance with University policies and all laboratory safety and quality policies, procedures, and training. The role also involves maintaining a regular and punctual schedule, managing confidential information, and demonstrating strong communication, interpersonal, attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills. Additionally, the student worker may assist with maintenance, cleaning, or sanitation of University facilities, ensure safety procedures are followed, assist with inventory, coordinate repairs, participate in facility services projects, keep maintenance or inventory records, partner with facilities staff, and assist with venue equipment setup, testing, or troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
- Maintain regular and reliable transportation to and from the main campus to the BRIC.
- Assist the cleanroom manager in overseeing daily upkeep of the cleanroom, such as: cleaning surfaces and floors, organizing supplies, putting away glassware and supplies, refilling chemical bottles and other supplies, maintaining shared lab spaces, and retrieving packages and materials from the BSB Chemical stockroom.
- Assist in the training of undergraduate and graduate students on the use of various research instruments and machines used within the cleanroom, and ensure the proper use of these instruments and machines.
- Comply with University policies as well as all laboratory safety and quality policies, procedures, and training.
- Maintain regular and punctual schedule.
- Manage confidential information.
- Assist with maintenance, cleaning, or sanitation of University facilities.
- Adhere to and ensure safety procedures and precautions are followed.
- Assist with inventory functions in the assigned area.
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and following up on needed repairs of equipment.
- Participate in various projects, activities, or tasks related to facility services.
- Assist with keeping records of maintenance or inventory.
- Partner closely with other facilities staff to ensure seamless facility operations.
- Assist with setup, testing, or troubleshooting venue equipment.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
