About The Position

The Office of Communications is seeking a Student Videographer/Assistant to support video production needs on campus. This role involves assisting with equipment setup, filming events and interviews, editing footage, and managing video assets. The position offers on-the-job training for required software and techniques. Hours will vary based on project needs, with a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment as a student at High Point University.
  • Proficiency in videography techniques, including filming, lighting, and audio recording. (on-the-job training available)
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar. (on-the-job training available)

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the marketing team and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to arrive on time and manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience in videography or video editing helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Video Production Specialist with set-up of equipment, lighting, cameras and mics
  • Film a variety of events, activities, and interviews on campus, ensuring high-quality footage and audio.
  • Edit video footage using industry-standard software to produce polished final products.
  • Incorporate graphics, music, and other elements to enhance the visual appeal of videos.
  • Manage equipment, including cameras, tripods, microphones, and lighting, to ensure proper functionality and maintenance.
  • Organize and maintain a library of video assets for easy access by the marketing team.
  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in videography to continually improve skills and techniques.
