About The Position

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking an entry-level Student Video Assistant to join Video & Collaboration Services. This role involves working with technologies such as streaming media, video & audio production, and video conferencing. Responsibilities include responding to customer requests via telephone, chat, and email to resolve basic issues or escalate complex ones. Training will be provided, and no prior experience with AV-related technologies is required, though a basic understanding and interest are preferred. The position also includes general office duties and requires proficiency in Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite. Self-motivation, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be a UF Student eligible to work on campus
Must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Proficient with Microsoft Windows
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
Self-motivation
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written/verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

Basic understanding of AV-related technologies
High level of interest in AV-related technologies

Responsibilities

Assisting Students, Faculty, and Staff with Zoom and Mediasite issues
Operating basic A/V Equipment for live events
Monitoring Classroom Lectures Recorded via Mediasite
Provide in-call support during Zoom events
Responding to customer requests via telephone, chat, and email
Resolving basic customer issues or escalating advanced issues
Performing general office duties (including answering phones, transferring calls, receiving orders, etc.)
