About The Position

The Center for Theatre and Dance is accepting applications for various student assistant positions. These roles include CTD Audition Assistants, Design and Management Office Assistants (supporting specific faculty in Lighting Design, Lighting and Sound Supervision, Production Management, Costume Design, Stage Management, Sound Design, and Scene Design), Scenic Art Classroom Assistant, Theatre Studies Foundations Classroom Assistant, Introduction to Professional Theatre Classroom Assistant, Studio Foundations for Theatrical Design Classroom Assistant, and History of Theatre Classroom Assistants. These positions offer meaningful experiential learning opportunities that develop transferable skills sought by employers across various industries, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world professional settings, fostering both personal and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Must be an Ithaca College student.
  • Must apply online and attach a resume and responses to application questions.
  • Responses to application questions should be attached under the Cover Letter field.
  • Must include specific information in the attached document: Position(s) applying for, Ithaca College student ID number, IC email address, Cellphone number, Major(s), minor(s), Month/year of expected graduation (MM/YYYY), and answer the question 'Have you previously held any position as a student employee at Ithaca College?'.
  • Must be available for the meeting time of the class if applying for a classroom assistant position.
  • Must bring original, unexpired, authorized personal identification documents to complete the I-9 form.
  • Must meet employment eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with auditions during the production season.
  • Provide office support for faculty in areas such as Lighting Design, Lighting and Sound Supervision, Production Management, Costume Design, Stage Management, Sound Design, and Scene Design.
  • Assist in the Scenic Art classroom.
  • Provide classroom assistance for Theatre Studies Foundations (fall only).
  • Provide classroom assistance for Introduction to Professional Theatre (fall only).
  • Provide classroom assistance for Studio Foundations for Theatrical Design (fall only).
  • Provide classroom assistance for History of Theatre (one in fall, one in spring).
