About The Position

The Arts & Sciences Learning Design & Technology Department is seeking Student Testing Proctors for the Computer-Based Testing Facility (CBTF) during the Fall 2026 term. This role is crucial for ensuring secure, high-quality testing experiences for students and faculty, encompassing computer-based exams, paper-based exams, and SDAC-accommodated testing. It is a detail-oriented position with significant responsibility, requiring a commitment to exam integrity, procedural adherence, and excellent customer service within a secure testing environment. Students are preferred to start the week before classes begin (around August 20, 2026) through the Fall 2026 semester to assist with setup, system checks, and procedural preparation. Opportunities may exist for earlier summer work for those who can dedicate time to training refinement, center processes, procedures, and workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Proctor computer-based and paper-based exams in the CBTF and other designated on-Grounds locations.
  • Support secure exam delivery, maintaining test integrity, confidentiality, and student privacy.
  • Provide direct support to student testers, including check-in, instructions, troubleshooting, and monitoring.
  • Serve as front-line support for faculty clients, communicating procedures and returning exam materials.
  • Manage exams end-to-end: room setup, student check-in, exam support, documentation/reports, clean-up, and post-exam procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, quiet, and orderly testing environment.
  • Accurately follow and apply center processes and procedures for various exam types and accommodations.
  • Adapt to a flexible schedule based on testing demand and faculty needs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, faculty, and CBTF staff.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback, identifying issues, and suggesting process enhancements.
  • Complete required administrative tasks, such as scheduling support, handling exam materials, and basic clerical work.
