About The Position

Educational Field Experiences is seeking a part-time, non-tenure track Clinical Instructor to supervise elementary and special education teacher interns. The Student Teaching Supervisor will supervise student teaching interns in their placement schools and will supervise and access the interns’ work that is submitted onto Tk20, the electronic data collection system utilized by Educational Field Experiences. Each semester, student teaching interns (18-22) will be supervised.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Education or at least 18 hours of elementary or special education classes at the graduate level.
• Three years of classroom teaching experience or five years working with college-level students in teacher preparation courses.
• A reliable computer with access to a high-speed internet connection.
• Dependable transportation and be willing to travel to school-based internship sites.
• The selected candidate must have dependable transportation and be willing to travel to school-based internship sites.

• Daily travel is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

• Ten years of classroom teaching experience or combined 10 years of teaching and school administration experience.
• Eighteen graduate credit hours in both elementary education and special education coursework.
• Prior experience supervising/teaching undergraduate elementary or special education students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student teachers in their school placements.
• Grade student teachers' electronic portfolio assignments submitted on Tevera in a timely manner.
• Present an overview and specific information about student teaching responsibilities to students in professional development seminars.
• Keep Educational Field Experiences Director informed of student teachers' progress throughout the semester.
• Attend University Supervisor and Student Teaching seminars throughout the year.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
