About The Position

This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) BA 213 Student Teaching Assistant for the College of Business at Oregon State University (OSU). This is a Teaching Assistant position for all BA 213 courses for the academic year. Pay rate for this position is $16.55 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
• Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
• Applicants must have successfully completed BA 213 at Oregon State University with a B or better.
• This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.

Nice To Haves

• Preference is for students who have successfully completed the Intermediate Accounting Series (ACTG 317/318/319) with a B or better.

Responsibilities

• Understand the course material, be flexible, and have good listening skills with the ability to assist students in the learning of course materials
• Assist in grading (e.g., assignments, quizzes, exams)
• Assist in grade entry
• Help with Canvas management
• Provide tutoring and/or host office hours
• Assist with exam proctoring
