About The Position

This is an internal, private posting for HR purposes only. The Student Teacher role is for the Fall 2026 semester and requires enrollment in a University and/or Alternative Certification Program with an assignment to student teach with Cypress Fairbanks ISD. Upon completion of student teaching and release by the program, candidates may be considered for a Substitute Teacher role. The Substitute Teacher role requires a Bachelor's degree or higher, strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, the ability to instruct students and manage behavior, flexibility, and a professional demeanor. Substitutes are employed on an at-will basis.

Requirements

• Enrolled in University and/or Alternative Certification Program
• University and/or Alternative Certification Program (ACP) assignment to student teach with Cypress Fairbanks ISD
• Must provide evidence of eligibility to work in the United States.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university (Letter of intent from university accepted with transcript commitment date).
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Flexible and able to adjust daily routine.
• Demonstrate a professional appearance and attitude.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing the District's instructional program and educational philosophy in the subject area or grade level designated, in accordance with district policies, and procedures on a day-to-day basis.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
