This is a 1.0 FTE TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment) position for Elementary School, effective at the beginning of the 2026-27 school year. The role involves teaching the curriculum of Independent School District 196, developing and demonstrating culturally responsive practices for equitable student outcomes, and possessing strong knowledge and strategies related to Non-Exclusionary Discipline. The TOSA will proactively support students with emotional regulation difficulties, provide instruction in social-emotional skills, and demonstrate current knowledge of assistive technology to enhance student efficiency. The position requires employing high expectations for students using various instructional techniques and media, collaborating with others to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, and advocating for students with disabilities to ensure high achievement. Strong communication and collaboration with staff, parents, and other professionals are essential, along with carrying out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
