About The Position

MCTC is seeking a Student Support Specialist II to provide comprehensive support to students through proactive, high-volume communication via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, phone, and email. Key responsibilities include assisting new and continuing students with scheduling, responding to student questions and requests, identifying students who may be at risk for academic failure, and implementing strategies that promote student success. This position will primarily serve students on the Rowan campus of MCTC. This is an in-person role that requires a regular on-campus presence and may not be eligible for remote work. The position is based primarily in a professional office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain direct contact and provide guidance and support to Rowan Campus students to improve student success. This includes: monitoring attendance and academic progress; discussing and supporting the student as they resolve issues that occur in the classroom environment; informing and connecting students to available academic and well-being resources; advising; and helping students develop individual student success and SAP plans.
  • Assist in the development of the success center operations, including the process for early intervention and reporting
  • Assist the success coaching team in coordinating student success services, including: Accessibility Services, Tutoring, etc..
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of all Business and Related Technologies Division programs, including pre-requisite and program courses, admissions processes, program requirements, and workforce needs. Maintain relationships with program faculty to support and connect students
