About The Position

Persons in these positions work a set schedule depending on the needs of the school. For example, some positions are assigned only 30 minutes a day while others could be one and a half (1.5) hours a day. Under direct supervision, assists school staff in maintaining the safety and well-being of students during eating and playground activity by monitoring designated areas as assigned; and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience supervising children is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises students in the playground and eating areas.
  • Patrols student restrooms to control over-crowding.
  • Helps guide students in developing good habits of sportsmanship and citizenship.
  • Encourages and promotes courtesy among students.
  • Ensures that safety rules are obeyed and applies school site student conduct code.
  • Assists students in resolving minor conflicts on the playground.
  • Follows school protocols for student discipline and office referrals.
  • Assists with the preparation and signing of accident reports if students are injured.
  • Directs students to health office as applicable.
  • Assists and directs school visitors to the office; assists and supervises students as they leave or enter the school grounds.
  • Reports unauthorized activities and unauthorized persons on school grounds to appropriate authority.
