About The Position

Temple University's Enrollment Management Department is searching for a Student Success Specialist! This position will play a vital role in supporting a diverse population of students in a coordinated effort throughout their academic journey. The primary responsibility will be to advocate for students by providing proactive outreach and helping them navigate campus resources to overcome challenges and ensure their success at Temple. This position will practice data-driven outreach, proactive resource referral, and timely/holistic interventions to meet the needs of students, especially those with complex issues that may span multiple offices/areas. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least two (2) years of directly related student services experience working in academic advising, academic support, financial aid, student affairs, or related field in higher education.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report generation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of employers, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare concise, accurate, and high-quality written work and maintain meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain a consistently positive and objective constituent service approach.
  • Ability to manage time effectively while balancing multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to use independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and equity in education.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams; Ability to learn new and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with student information systems.
  • Criminal history review, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprinting.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
