Reporting to the Student Services Manager, Student Services is responsible for enhancing the student experience by providing personalized support and guidance aligned with students' academic and career goals. This position combines administrative responsibilities with direct student engagement and requires strong interpersonal and organization skills. Student Services collaborates with various departments across the college to support practicum placements and student development initiatives. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment, in alignment with the college's core values.

Requirements

  • University/college courses are an asset.
  • Three years’ experience in counseling, educating, or supporting adults is an asset.
  • Proficient with technology (MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Highly proficient communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of educational administration and student record management
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in coaching, counseling, or student support preferred

Responsibilities

  • Educate students on Student Loan Repayment and provide guidance as needed.
  • Monitor student progress and academic behavior, proactively intervening through counseling, coaching, and action planning.
  • Coach students on resume writing, job search strategies, and interview skills.
  • Build and maintain community relationships to increase employment opportunities for graduates.
  • Support student recruitment efforts by attracting potential new students.
  • Ensure accurate daily reporting of student attendance and progress.
  • Maintain detailed student records in compliance with FOIP/PIPEDA, tracking funding sources, program details, withdrawals, absences, and employment opportunities.
  • Provide timely reporting and updates to management.
  • Record and analyze monthly KPI data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in college events, including orientations, open houses, graduations, trade shows, and student appreciation activities.
  • Represent AOLCC professionally and positively at all events and interactions.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.
