About The Position

Under general direction, incumbent(s) oversees the implementation of the school discipline, truancy, and tardiness programs. In addition, incumbent(s) determines appropriate level of disciplinary action for students, investigates referrals, documents and maintains proper paperwork, and facilitates processes to provide interventions for teachers and parents.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Education
  • Valid Arizona Department of Education Teacher Certificate-grade designations apply
  • Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the implementation of the school-wide discipline, truancy, and tardiness programs by working adminstration and the School Discipline Committee, school staff, and the District office.
  • Trains and updates school staff, parents, and students on discipline, truancy, and tardiness procedures.
  • Determines appropriate level of disciplinary action for students identified as improperly behaving.
  • Investigates discipline referrals.
  • Completes required paperwork.
  • Implements disciplinary action according to District and school policies and procedures.
  • Communicates with staff, parents, and students regrading discipline, truancy, and tardiness
  • Develops and delivers school-wide programs that promote positive self-esteem, decision-making skills, conflict resolution, and peer mediation.
  • Facilitates processes to provide interventions for teachers and parents prior to Team Approach Process (TAP) referrals, including monitoring functional behavioral assessments and student behavior intervention plans.
  • Attends and assists school personnel in facilitating TAP meetings.
  • Assists the Principal in conducting threat assessments using District guidelines.
  • Reports student conduct to applicable law enforcement agencies.
  • Collaborates with resource officers and local law enforcement agencies regarding prevention plans.
  • Reports suspected child abuse/neglect to Child Protectiive Services and other applicable law enforcement agencies.
  • Performs other duties as required.
