About The Position

Under the general supervision of the preceptor designee, the intern will acquire knowledge and develop skills through experiences in the departments of respiratory therapy, sleep center, EKG, EEG, holter monitors, and stress testing. You will perform assigned duties in an effective manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by your manager to assure that a successful viable department is maintained at all times. Under the direction of the Director Cardio Pulmonary and Rehabilitation Services (CPRS), performs a variety of Cardio Pulmonary Procedures and Sleep Studies under general supervision. Must care for a patient population, which includes adolescents and geriatrics; therefore, must be able to identify the special needs of each patient procedures/treatments and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Currently enrolled in a university program as a respiratory therapy student.
Temporary license from the state of Ohio.
Complete understanding of all respiratory procedures and sterile techniques.
Basic knowledge of how a respiratory department functions.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Strong motivation to work with long term and acute care patients.
Ability to prioritize and work with general supervision.
Ability to function effectively and efficiently in emergencies.
Ability to make quick decisions when necessary.

Responsibilities
