About The Position

Orlando Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Assistant Student for the NICU at Winnie Palmer Hospital. This role involves performing various duties related to respiratory equipment, including assembly, transport, disinfection, calibration, and troubleshooting. The Respiratory Therapist Assistant works under the supervision of a Licensed Respiratory Therapist, ensuring an adequate supply of equipment in work areas and assisting therapists and physicians with procedures. The position may also involve training new Respiratory Therapy Assistants or Student Respiratory Therapists on routine functions.

Requirements

  • Respiratory Care student currently enrolled in an accredited Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences pre-licensure program at a college or university affiliated with the organization.
  • Proof of continued enrollment in accredited pre-licensure, professional respiratory care program with no break in enrollment.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
  • Concurrent enrollment in an Associate of Science in Respiratory Care or Cardiopulmonary Sciences pre-licensure program not to exceed three months post-graduation.

Nice To Haves

  • Obtains license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Florida Department of Health within three months post-graduation.

Responsibilities
