About The Position

The Department of Biology, under Professor Nam Sung Moon, is seeking a Student Research Assistant to prepare and process Drosophila tissues for downstream analyses. This role involves assisting with research data analysis, performing immunofluorescence staining on whole-mount tissues, and conducting whole-mount in situ hybridization experiments. The position is located in Montreal, Quebec, and is covered by the Association of McGill University Research Employees (AMURE) collective agreement.

Requirements

  • McGill Student
  • Hands-on experience working with Drosophila melanogaster
  • Experience with molecular techniques
  • Experience with Drosophila genetics and genetic crossing schemes
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis of biological data
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities
