About The Position

The NOAA Center in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology at Howard University invite applications for two (2) part-time (20hr/wk during regular semester, and up to 40hr/wk during summer) research assistant positions in the areas of planetary boundary layer measurements and analysis. The positions require assisting research projects within the scope of NCAS-M research thrusts.

Requirements

  • Experience in instrumentation, data collection and analysis.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Fortran, etc.) for analysis.
  • Knowledge of and experience with atmospheric physics, boundary layer meteorology, clouds and water cycle.
  • BS or MS in atmospheric sciences or a closely related field.
  • Demonstration of organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Ability to work independently to produce reports and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
