About The Position

This position is designed for post-baccalaureate individuals participating in a UTMB post-baccalaureate research education program with major responsibilities of research and academic work.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in science or related field.

Responsibilities

Learns and masters basic laboratory techniques taught in a classroom-setting or in a research laboratory to gain proficiency for performing laboratory or computational research
Works with research faculty to define a research plan and project and carries out research on defined project(s); Reports results of the research in written and verbal reports
Performs research work which may comprise of laboratory work or computational/data-based work under the direction of responsible faculty
Attends any and all scheduled meetings with exceptions for excused absences, and participates in activities that include individual development planning and writing assignments
Attends scheduled meetings with mentoring team members including graduate students and postdoctoral members
Student tutoring and academic skills building as related to professional training
Literature and database research as needed for the research
Adheres to all policies and regulations of UTMB
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure
Performs related duties as required to fulfill personal academic requirements
