About The Position

Barry University School of Law seeks a Research Assistant for Professor Kan. The Research Assistant is a temporary position, available for a law student who will assist Professor Kan 40 hours per semester by researching assigned topics and completing various writing assignments. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at the Barry University School of Law in good academic standing.
  • Sucessful completion of the first year of Law School.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Self-motivated and ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Specialized knowledge of Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw information systems.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of or desire to learn in the specific legal area assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Assist professor in scholarly work the professor deems appropriate by:
  • Researching topics assigned using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and any other appropriate information.
  • Completing various writing assignments as assigned.
  • Completing additional research requests as assigned.
  • Performing edits and citing checks on the professor's articles.
