About The Position

The Student Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing detailed annual recruitment plans for the College of Education (COE) undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs in conjunction with the UNLV Admissions Office, and oversees strategic and effective recruitment for the COE, along with companion marketing activities that support recruitment and admissions. The coordinator effectively implements a diverse portfolio of recruitment strategies to increase application and matriculation yields. Outreach and recruitment efforts include, but are not limited to, the following: recruitment presentations, hosting workshops for prospective students and families, participating in on- and off-campus recruitment events to provide program assistance/guidance, meeting with prospective students and families on campus, making calls to prospects and inquiries for career counseling. The Coordinator collaborates with UNLV, CSN, and other external college admissions and transfer offices, as well as COE faculty and staff to effectively implement recruitment efforts. Externally the position requires collaboration with in-state and out-of-state school districts to facilitate college pathways and transitions as well as career changing and paraprofessional recruitment to COE programs. The Student Recruitment Coordinator will also be charged with developing and ensuring implementation of all recruitment plans for targeted populations, including, but not limited to, underrepresented, non-traditional, and/or Online students. Recruitment efforts, strategies, and effectiveness will be assessed and updated annually. The Student Recruitment will maintain a high level of internal contact with the UNLV Office of Admissions, Director for Regional and College Recruitment, and external recruiter community/contacts in the UNLV Office of Admissions. This position is responsible for providing leadership in carrying out special recruitment initiatives as assigned by the leadership team in the college and will be expected to travel both in and out of state and work irregular hours and weekends. In order to be most effective in this role, a keen awareness of college market trends, demographic shifts, and recruitment strategies and technologies being utilized by competing institutions will be imperative.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date
