About The Position

The Student Recruitment & Admissions Relationship Specialist, under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Recruitment, successfully identifies and recruits prospective students to all TAMUT programs (i.e., FTIC, transfer, online, graduate, international students) and is responsible for planning, organizing, and participating in recruitment activities and functions that contribute to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled students. The Student Recruitment & Admissions Relationship Specialist also serves as the primary point of contact for community college partners, fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships to support transfer pathways and enrollment growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Knowledge of admissions functions of higher education.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of recruitment and marketing
  • Ability to use technology to track and process students through University Admissions processes.
  • Ability to collect, write, and report various types of data sets.
  • Ability to connect to prospective online students.
  • Proven ability to achieve goals, influence others, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Associate Director of Recruitment to develop an effective recruitment plan for students to include transfer pipelines, prerequisite needs, admission requirements, program offerings, student interests, and career goals.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to implement effective recruitment strategies.
  • Identifies, recruits, and contributes to increasing the population of admitted and enrolled students.
  • Serves as a liaison to develop enrollment feeder partnerships between the university and community colleges, community-based organizations, university partners, and businesses; Implements outreach to prospective student populations, community, and educational partners and delivers information sessions.
  • Presents information in both group and individual settings for potential students on topics of academics, admissions processes, financial aid, and scholarship programs, student advising, and career opportunities.
  • Spends significant time engaging prospective students in discussion about their future with the goal of setting an enrollment plan; Maintain database of recruitment and outreach efforts and monitor for effectiveness.
  • Creates and distributes resource materials for student recruitment and retention in programs; analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs; develops strategies for recruitment evaluation.
  • Guides students through the enrollment funnel efficiently by maintaining consistent communication (outbound calls, emails, and text) and follow-up with prospective students.
  • Meet metrics by demonstrating high level of product/program knowledge and meeting specific student recruitment goals.
  • Coordinates with constituents to facilitate the application process; Assumes responsibility for managing and updating computerized prospective student database, application paperwork, and follow-up documentation.
  • Advises prospective students about admissions status.
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of programs, university student services, and peer institutions' offerings.
  • Track and communicate with assigned inquiries and applicants.
  • Works directly with applicants and their families to submit all missing documents to ensure successful enrollment to TAMUT.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for transfer students, providing guidance on how coursework from other institutions will transfer to TAMUT, including explanation of transfer equivalencies, degree applicability, and articulation pathways.
  • Counsel students and parents regarding the eligibility of various financial aid, veterans' education benefits, and scholarships opportunities.
  • Guide students and families through the financial aid application (FAFSA) and financial aid processes.
  • Plans and schedules travel to all recruitment events while maintaining an efficient travel budget.
  • Navigates catalog, website, student portals, SIS, CRM, and Data Imaging system seamlessly for information gathering and accurate record keeping.
  • Work effectively with coworkers as part of the Admissions and Recruitment team to ensure each student's experience with the institution is professional, service-focused, and productive.
