About The Position

The Westminster University Performing Arts Department is hiring student employees across multiple areas and levels of responsibility. These positions offer the opportunity to gain hands-on administrative and technical experience in a vibrant performing arts environment. Students can get their foot in the door or take on a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and mentoring high school-aged pianists and vocalists participating in a week-long residential performing arts camp.
  • Assisting patrons, selling tickets, and supporting front-of-house operations.
  • Organizing communications and supporting daily operations of the Westminster Performing Arts Center.
  • Designing promotional materials, managing social media, and marketing performances on campus and in the community.
  • Working behind-the-scenes with sound systems, stage setups, lighting, and concert logistics.
  • Providing essential support to the orchestra and its director by assisting with the management and organization of the music library, preparing scores, and ensuring rehearsals and performances run smoothly.
  • Providing valuable support to the Choir Director(s) and choir members by assisting with the management of the choral music library, preparing scores, and ensuring rehearsals and performances run smoothly.
  • Assisting with set construction, painting, and basic carpentry tasks.
  • Leading peers in scene shop operations, overseeing safety, and managing daily tasks.
  • Supporting the smooth operation of the theatre shop and the timely completion of production tasks under the direction of the Technical Director.
  • Supporting costume builds, alterations, and organization.
  • Supervising costume shop workflow and assisting with fittings and production needs.
  • Providing advanced leadership and serving as a key liaison between designers and shop staff.
