About The Position

Goddard Health Center, the ambulatory care facility on the Norman campus, is hiring a student employee to join our laboratory team. Students will work in the Goddard Health Center Laboratory doing a variety of tasks.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in the Fall Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
• Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare major is preferred
• ASCP or equivalent certification in phlebotomy

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls
• Check patients into Medicat for Laboratory/Radiology appointments
• Schedule patients, if needed
• Restock supplies
• Daily and as needed cleaning of workspaces
• Make deliveries to other campus departments as needed
• Scan and file confidential records
• Fax lab results, if instructed
• Collect blood and/or swabs from patients following laboratory procedures
• Provide collection instructions to patients for self-collect samples
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when collecting samples
• Maintain patient privacy (HIPAA compliant)
• May assist in processing samples
• Other assistance/duties as required
