Provide clinical care to patients of the pharmacy. Assist the pharmacy manager in the operation and management of the pharmacy. Support pharmacists, provide indirect supervision for support staff, and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures. Infusion Pharmacy Responsibilities: Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas. Support pharmacy workflows, including sterile compounding. Participate in multidisciplinary care discussions with clinical teams. Greater emphasis on infusion therapies and direct patient monitoring. Progression of Duties: Student pharmacists in the hospital setting advance from operational workflow and sterile compounding in Year 1, to deeper responsibilities in oral chemotherapy, therapy modification, and interdisciplinary collaboration in Year 2, expanded integration with counseling, medication safety, and cultural competence in Year 3, and full clinical integration with personalized medicine, advanced collaboration, and culturally responsive care in Year 4.
