About The Position

The Summer Intern for the National Alumni Association at The University of Alabama supports the outreach and information table during Summer Orientation for incoming students. This role involves learning presentation skills from staff, engaging with students, parents, and returning alumni while promoting membership to the Future Alumni Association (students) and National Alumni Association (parents). Summer orientation is an integral part of the Membership and Marketing Department of the National Alumni Association at The University of Alabama. Students who demonstrate dedication and leadership may have additional opportunities within the organization, including ambassador or other leadership positions.

Requirements

  • Current University of Alabama undergraduate student
  • Ability to work at least three weekdays per week from May - July
  • Ability to work shifts beginning at 7:30am and ending after 12pm
  • Demonstrates strong verbal communication skills
  • Professional presence
  • Ability to present to small audiences with confidence
  • Self-motivated, adaptable individual with a positive, high-energy attitude
  • Commitment to customer service and excellence
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt to various environments (indoors/outdoors)
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a UA degree program and meet minimum credit hour requirements during the academic year (Undergraduate Students must be registered for at least 6 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; Graduate Students must be registered for at least 4.5 credit hours during fall/spring semesters; International Students must be registered full-time (Undergraduate = 12 credit hours, Graduate = 9 credit hours) during fall/spring semesters)
  • Enrollment requirements must be maintained for the duration of on-campus employment
