About The Position

Ledcor Highways is seeking safety-oriented individuals for an entry-level opportunity in highway maintenance. This role offers unique training and license upgrades, including a fully funded opportunity to upgrade a Class 5 driver's license to a Class 3 license, enabling participation in winter and summer operations. The training aims to develop skills for safe and competent winter plow operation, with potential for full-time or seasonal employment. Requirements

18+ years of age
Possess a minimum Class 5 License without restrictions and a clean driver’s abstract
Able to pass an Alberta medical exam and vision screening exam (necessary to obtain Class 3 license)
Safety-oriented with a commitment to quality
Able to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting 50lbs, standing for extended periods of time and working outdoors in all weather conditions
Approved applicants must commit to a minimum employment term.

Responsibilities

Play a key part in keeping highways and communities safe.
Support winter and summer operations across the Province.
Acquire a Class 3 license and develop skills to become a safe and competent winter plow operator.
Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting 50lbs, standing for extended periods of time and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work in various weather patterns.
Perform shift work, on-call duties, and night shifts.
