About The Position

The Student Office Assistant & Ambassador supports the UD Associate In Arts Program (AAP) at the Community Education Building in Wilmington and serves as the first point of contact and student ambassador. This position provides receptionist, clerical and other duties including but not limited to: answering phone calls and emails, greeting and screening staff and visitors; sharing personal academic experiences, stories and knowledge of UD AAP with prospective students and guests including individuals and groups; providing administrative support and logistics for special events such as conferences, trainings, student recruitment and other events; maintaining and organizing supplies and materials for the office; being responsible for inventory and maintenance of equipment limited to the copier machines, fax machines, etc.; preparing forms, letters and composing general correspondence; organizing information using Microsoft Office and other systems; and performing other related duties as assigned. This position is expected to work up to 10 hours per week Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM at the Community Education Building in Wilmington, Delaware. Preference will be given to students who are enrolled in classes at the Wilmington Community Education Building in Wilmington for Fall 2026.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be undergraduate students at the University of Delaware
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, troubleshoot, and problem-solve in a customer service setting
