About The Position

The Student Nurse Technician provides multi-skilled, direct patient care under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. The role requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or an equivalent course, such as fundamentals, foundations, or adult/pediatric health. Candidates who are expected to graduate from nursing school in August 2027 or later are preferred. A minimum commitment of one shift each week is required.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program, such as an ADN, BSN, or MSN program.
• Completed a nursing fundamentals course or equivalent foundational nursing skills course.
• Commit to working at least one shift every week.
• No prior experience required.
• No supervisor experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Candidates graduating in August 2027 or later are preferred.
• Enrollment in an accredited BSN program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse with patient and family education.
• Document patient care activities using correct medical terminology.
• Act as a 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are available to meet each patient's needs.
• Implement direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Collect clinical data and information about patients and report abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instruct patients in preparations for tests and procedures.
