About The Position

The Team Maryville × St. Luke’s Healthcare Immersion Program is a 16-week‑ paid experience designed to bring Maryville students into a real-world healthcare environment. Through thoughtfully structured PRN roles, students gain exposure to clinical, administrative, and technical areas, stepping into the hospital setting to learn, serve, and grow. Rooted in Team Maryville’s mission of purposeful employment, competitive recruitment, and intentional training, this partnership allows students to explore multiple career pathways, including: Clinical areas: pulmonary medicine, cardiac progressive care, emergency services, and nursing practice. Administrative roles: human resources, finance/accounting, and operations. Technical roles: information technology, security, systems operations, and help desk support. Guided by Maryville’s vision of student employment as a launchpad for lifelong success, and inspired by Disney’s commitment to exceptional experiences, the program emphasizes the Five Keys of Safety, Courtesy, Show, Efficiency, and Inclusion. Students gain hands-on skills, confidence, and professional insight while working alongside healthcare teams who model excellence, mentorship, and compassionate care. At the conclusion of the 16-week program, students complete a guided reflection aligned with Team Maryville’s focus on growth and intentional development. They evaluate how their work strengthened skills, shaped career interests, and supported long-term goals. They reflect on competencies developed, identify departments or roles of interest, seek feedback from mentors, and explore additional education or certifications. This structured reflection ensures students complete the program with clarity, confidence, and direction—key outcomes of a Team Maryville journey designed to help students thrive beyond graduation. The Student Nurse Intern works under RN supervision to provide patient care, participate in care planning, assist with clinical tasks, and support the healthcare team.
