The Nurse Internship is a paid, skill-based clinical role designed to bridge nursing education and professional practice through RN preceptorship, interdisciplinary collaboration and progressive skill development. Nurse interns gain hands-on clinical experience under the direct supervision of a licensed Registered Nurse (RN). This role offers individualized placement within hospital and ambulatory care settings, allowing students to explore clinical specialties while building confidence, competence and professional identity. Interns are expected to function within an established student scope of practice, follow facility policies, and comply with Joint Commission and all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Summer Nurse interns have the opportunity to continue as a Senior Nurse Intern for the following fall and/or spring semesters based on performance and availability.
