Through hands-on care and structured mentorship, participants will gain valuable experience. The position involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and participating in department-specific orientation and competency development.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled and remain enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Must successfully complete a 2-week orientation training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities for daily living and non-invasive patient care tasks.
• Document care and observations accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Promptly report changes in patient condition to licensed personnel.
• Collect and transport specimens per policy.
• Provide one-to-one patient safety observation as assigned.
• Assist with patient transfers and transport.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and ethical behavior in all interactions.
• Participate in orientation, training, and ongoing development sessions.
• Perform point-of-care testing and quality control procedures as trained.
• Transport non-controlled medications and blood products per policy.
• Assist with procedures under direct supervision.
