This position is dedicated to the care of the pediatric population and those with childhood conditions. The Student MRI Technologist will assist with patient care, flow, and procedures as delegated. They will follow the plan of care and assist in its implementation, prepare patients for or assist with procedures/exams, and assist patients with appropriate activities as needed. The role involves coordinating and assisting with the timely flow of patients and families, monitoring individual patient cycle times to ensure prompt treatment, and assisting technologists with room cleanup and turnover. The Student MRI Technologist will identify bottlenecks and work to resolve them, de-escalate situations for patients and families experiencing extended wait times or unsatisfactory experiences, and assume responsibility for an orderly and safe environment. This includes ensuring a MR safe work environment, identifying and correcting unsafe conditions, managing supply storage and stock, and communicating with environmental services for a clean and safe environment. Exam and prep rooms, weigh stations, and work rooms will be prepared and restocked daily. Adherence to all applicable regulatory standards is required. The role also emphasizes acting as a patient advocate, striving to meet patient and family needs, and interacting in a courteous, attentive, and conscientious manner, responding quickly to requests and concerns. Maintaining safety programs within the department/division and ensuring safety concerns are reported appropriately are also key responsibilities.
