About The Position

We are looking for a talented School to Work – Manufacturing (Housing Fabrication Welding and Machining) person to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC. This position will be on-site in Fletcher, NC. This is an onsite role to assist the Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems plant Housing Fabrication Welding and Machining team with a variety of projects, including bracket welding housings, seam welding housings, and weld repair.

Requirements

  • Current students attend BlueRidge Community College and are enrolled in a Welding or related program.
  • Work schedule can vary as needed to accommodate the student's regular school schedule.
  • Work a routine schedule up to the STW limit of up to 40 hours per week.
  • Good communication skills
  • Self-starter

Responsibilities

  • Applying high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship ensures the quality and reliability of the work performed.
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement activities and TPM teams helps improve quality, safety, processes, and material flow.
  • By stopping work and reporting any major injury hazards immediately, you help maintain a safe working environment.
  • Reporting any work-related injuries, illnesses, incidents, or hazards ensures compliance with HSE standards and promotes a culture of safety.
  • Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.
  • Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Champion proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve health and safety. This will contribute to a safer workplace and an injury-free environment.
