About The Position

This role involves providing professional counseling services to undergraduate students, staff, and faculty at Haskell Indian Nations University, both on campus and virtually. The counselor will address a variety of mental health concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, academic pressure, and personal issues. The position also includes providing mental health case management, crisis intervention, and conducting training and workshops to enhance student well-being, resilience, and academic success.

Requirements

  • Must be licensed in the State of Kansas as an LCPC, LCSW, or LCMFT.
  • Must have a minimum of a master's degree in counseling or a related field, such as social work, clinical psychology, human relations, or any field with at least 18 graduate hours in a combination of the qualifying fields listed.

Responsibilities

  • Provides therapeutic counseling on campus and virtually.
  • Provide mental health case management services for day-to-day campus needs as well as crisis intervention when needed.
  • Provide training and workshops on areas related to mental health, on campus and virtually.
  • To enhance student well-being, resilience, and academic success through effective mental health support.
  • Provide crisis response interventions and support for students in distress.
