About The Position

Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, the student will assist with the repair and maintenance of trucks, tractors, and related equipment used by County personnel. Additional responsibilities will include general upkeep of County shop facilities, such as sweeping, painting, and other housekeeping tasks. The role may also involve assisting with the scheduling, delivery, and collection of vehicles and parts at various County locations. In-house duties will include clerical and administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Must be a student enrolled in full-time secondary or post-secondary studies in the fall.
  • Possess a valid Class G2 Ontario driver’s licence.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills.
  • Pay special attention to safety and detail.
  • Provide a driver’s abstract indicating a clean driving record prior to commencement.
  • Supply own C.S.A. approved work boots, with steel toes and shanks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an Automotive or Agricultural Mechanics field of study.
