About The Position

We’re seeking a Student Maintenance Lead to oversee and complete maintenance service issues across our student housing portfolio. This role is perfect for someone who is hands-on, technically skilled across multiple trades, and committed to creating a high-quality living experience for our residents. You’ll also assist the Student Maintenance Supervisor with operational and administrative tasks, making you a key resource for property maintenance operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications preferred)
Experience in maintenance, repairs, or building operations
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose maintenance issues across multiple trades
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle on-call emergencies
Attention to detail, accountability, and teamwork

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve service requests across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, janitorial, landscaping, and general maintenance.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Uptown’s industry-leading standards.
Manage van and property inventory to support timely resolution of service issues.
Coordinate with vendors to escalate and complete complex service issues.
Maintain administrative processes when the supervisor is unavailable, including work order management, labor hour reviews, and vendor purchases.
Serve as a technical and operational resource for student maintenance portfolios.
Support process improvements and standard operating procedure compliance.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests during scheduled after-hours shifts.
Support additional maintenance tasks and property-related activities as needed.
