About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Student Life, the Student Life Coordinator will oversee the daily facility arrangements for events on the Loras College campus, supervise the daily operations of the mailroom, advise the College Activities Board and Intramurals program and assist with student organizations. The College has reviewed this job description to ensure that essential functions and basic duties have been included. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Three or more years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of related computer systems and applications.
  • Understanding of basic event scheduling procedures.
  • Good communication and public relations skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Well organized and attentive to detail.
  • Willing to cooperate with and assist others.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing, managing and monitoring all event bookings and department functions for internal and external constituents.
  • Coordinating facility needs associated with campus events, programs, meetings, and external rentals, including room setup, furniture and equipment needs, custodial services, building access, and other facility-related requirements.
  • Compiling and maintaining event reports and records.
  • Advising and managing programs and activities of the College Activities Board and Intramurals.
  • Maintaining calendars of campus events, including but not limited to the SharePoint calendar and the Stall Street Journal, ensuring accurate and timely event information.
  • Ensuring professional business relations with internal and external constituencies.
  • Responsible for the operations of the mailroom.
  • Assisting students in implementing new organizations, maintaining college records of recognized organizations and serving as a resource for students.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication and working relations with area staff and management.
  • Directing and supervising assigned student employees, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Managing campus postings in accordance with College policies and procedures.
  • Planning, organizing and implementing annual Student Life events and programs.
  • Assisting with retention efforts of the Student Life Office.
  • Serving as office manager for the Student Life Office, including maintaining office equipment such as printers and scanners, ordering office supplies, coordinating general office needs, and maintaining monthly expense reports.
  • Performing related duties as assigned.
  • Carrying out functions of the position in support of the College's Catholic Identity, mission and in support of Church teachings.
