About The Position

The FUGE Student Leader Apprentice (SLA) program is a two-week, unpaid leadership development program for graduating or rising high school seniors who are passionate about camp ministry and interested in gaining hands-on leadership experience. This program offers students a behind-the-scenes look at FUGE camps, focusing on developing faith and leadership skills essential for future FUGE Summer Staff roles. The program is designed for students entering or completing their senior year of high school.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduating or rising high school senior the summer of SLA.
  • Must provide at least three references.
  • References must include one from a Student Minister, Youth Leader, or Church Pastor.
  • References must include one from a Sunday School/Small Group teacher or someone who has spiritually taught you.
  • References must include one from an adult who has known you well for several years (e.g., teacher, family friend, coach).
  • References must be submitted in accordance with program guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a variety of experiences including personality and leadership assessments, ministry sites, recreation, Bible study, leadership skill development, prayer experiences, and worship during the first week.
  • Be apprenticed to a FUGE Camps staffer during the second week to gain hands-on camp experience.
  • Serve in various roles assisting the overall camp program.
  • Gain a first-hand look at camp ministry and prepare for future leadership roles.
