About The Position

This posting is for Teaching Assistant positions for STUDENT Journalism courses (JOUR) at Ithaca College. Two specific courses are listed: JOUR 21100 – Visual Journalism, taught by Professor Erica Soto, and JOUR 39023 – Special Topics: Field Experience, taught by Professor James Rada. Both positions involve assisting in classroom instruction, supporting students, and working with EFP equipment and editing software to create multimedia journalism content. The Visual Journalism TA will focus on EFP equipment and editing software, while the Field Experience TA will also assist in the field and manage social media content. Requirements

  • Student must have taken the course before (for JOUR 21100).
  • Completion of Visual Journalism with a B+ or higher (for JOUR 39023).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in classroom instruction on EFP equipment and editing software.
  • Support students in EFP learning opportunities to create multimedia journalism content.
  • Assist in the implementation and operation of EFP equipment and editing software, in the classroom and field.
  • Produce and manage social media content, vis-a-vis course aligned learning opportunities to create multimedia journalism content.
