About The Position

The Information Security Analyst (Student) is responsible for assisting the CISO with components of The University of Tulsa's information security program, specifically responding to security events and engaging in special projects. Work will be performed in the IT SOC located in Zink Hall collaboratively with other students and interacting with IT Security staff. Interactions with other IT staff and/or TU employees outside of IT may occur as required.

Requirements

• Must be available 10-20 hours per week.
• Must be a full-time undergraduate/graduate student in good academic standing.
• Must stay abreast of current Cyber Security news and attacks.
• Must be willing to learn and grow Cyber Security skillsets.
• Maintain good (digital) citizenship.
• Must uphold, enforce, and abide by all institutional policies, and applicable laws.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate applications and services within the institution.
• Assist with upkeep of the information security department’s website content.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 security event response.
• Assist with forensics analysis and data collection.
• Assist with assessments for specific applications, services, networks, and servers as required.
• Assist with platform management and the review / implementation of new platforms.
• Assist in conducting audits and assessments against institutionally accepted security controls.
• Other duties as assigned.
