About The Position

We are currently seeking talented individuals for the position of Student Intern in the Engineering Department at the Springerville Generating Station. We are looking for energetic individuals to assist Engineers and non-engineering staff with existing projects and offer work experience to college students. This is a temporary opportunity to work during the summer break with an estimated start date in June 2025.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical with an anticipated graduation date in 2027 or 2028.
  • Maintain required hours for full-time student status, good academic standing at their college or university.
  • Scheduling assignments will be made on a department-by-department basis.

Responsibilities

  • Review and submittal of Engineering Documents to assist in the completion of projects
  • Utilizing Engineering documents to ensure properly labeled plant equipment according to TEP standard (i.e. heavy focus on systems directly involved with our clearance procedure)
  • Create system drawing packages for established processes to expedite troubleshooting (i.e. MCCs, Standalone equipment, Specific systems throughout the plant)
  • Review field equipment in comparisons with Engineering drawings to ensure correctness
  • Assist Engineering group in routine problem solving using fundamental principles of mathematics and physics
