Program Overview Are you a high performing student who demonstrates leadership, curiosity, and a desire to make an impact? A High School Internship at The Hartford Financial Services Company offers valuable exposure to a real-world Fortune 200 environment where students build relevant skills, strengthen core competencies, and gain insight into the fast paced world of corporate information technology. Each intern is paired with an experienced IT mentor who guides their learning and helps them explore innovative technology services. What You Can Expect An inclusive, supportive, structured, and rewarding internship experience New Intern Orientation with computer, application, and system training Meaningful assignments that enhance customer service, strengthen IT stability, and support compliance Dedicated mentorship and structured feedback Scheduled sessions with senior executive leaders across The Hartford Functional Team The intern will join the Office of the Chief Technology Officer, gaining exposure to several initiatives including cloud transformation, resilience, application modernization and proliferation of AI into workflows.

Requirements

  • Curiosity and a desire to learn
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to follow direction and guidance
  • Familiarity with and interest in technology implementation for improve business outcomes/customer experience
  • Interest in Microsoft 365, Power BI, SharePoint and AI tools
  • Reliable transportation required for onsite work
  • Must meet State employment eligibility requirements and successfully complete a background check

Responsibilities

  • Assist with program management activities
  • Support creation of organization and program artifacts
  • Shadow team members
  • Observe agile ceremonies
  • Learn and apply automation using Power BI, SharePoint, AI/Copilot
  • Research opportunities to improve automation
  • Participate in weekly huddles
  • Support documentation and operational tasks
