About The Position

Mass General Brigham (MGB) is hiring a Student Intern to work on the international team in the International Patient Center. This role supports the needs of international patients across the MGB population. This opportunity provides insight into the department and a variety of ways to increase skills and experience in a healthcare role.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in High School (for JP101882) or Currently enrolled in undergraduate program (for JP205535).
High School Diploma completed, required (for JP205535).
Ideal student is a rising sophomore or above in BA/ BS program, accredited College (for JP205535).
Exceptional interpersonal skills in order to assist both internal and external partners and potential partners.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and the ability to sustain ongoing relationships with colleagues and to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail and adhering to deadlines.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to protect the privacy of individuals and the confidentiality of employee and applicant information.
Must be proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work well independently or with others.
Requires the ability to remain flexible in order to handle and prioritize work from various department staff.

Responsibilities

Triage incoming inquiries in various mediums, while providing assistance to walk-ins and telephone inquiries.
Meet and greets patients and their families, providing individualized attention to patients’ needs.
Perform patient registration, ensuring accuracy of international demographics and financial data elements in the Hospital registration systems.
Assist with special projects, including research and collecting data and interviews regarding national and international health providers.
Assist with data analysis for metrics.
Send out routine communication emails in regards to visitors.
All other duties as assigned.
