About The Position
The Premier Performance and Transformation Office (PPTO) manages Entergy's strategic transformation initiatives, including grid modernization, clean energy, and resilience investments. The PPTO validates strategic initiatives at approval gates and tracks their delivery on promises, escalating any shortfalls to leadership. This role will support financial analysis and value realization at the portfolio level, assessing collective performance against targets, identifying areas of shortfall, and guiding leadership focus. The intern will work directly with a Sr. Manager and two Sr. Staff members, with daily check-ins and guidance provided.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree as Junior or Senior standing in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
- Intermediate Excel proficiency.
- Ability to build simple financial models or dashboards.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on structured analytical tasks with guidance.
- Ability to interpret and explain financial data and variance to non-finance audiences in writing.
- Detail-oriented with ability to identify and flag data inconsistencies.
- Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position. Entergy will not sponsor candidates for work visas for this position.
Nice To Haves
- Prior internship in Finance, Accounting, or Business Analysis where you built financial models or tracked actual vs. forecast performance.
- Experience with variance analysis or budget vs. actual reporting.
- Familiarity with financial systems or databases beyond Excel.
- Exposure to utility, energy, or regulated industry through coursework, internship, or research.
Responsibilities

- Assist in creating standards for initiative approval at stage-gates.
- Compare promised value against actual delivery across the portfolio.
- Organize financial data to facilitate analysis.
