About The Position

This is a full-time student internship position within the Pediatric Oncology: Research Lab at Carolinas Medical Center. The internship runs from May 1 through August 31 and offers a pay range of $18.85 - $28.30 per hour. The intern will perform various duties including patient and family visits, delivery of support services, studies, investigations, research projects, and other assignments. Responsibilities also include administrative tasks such as answering phones, maintaining computer data, typing documents, creating spreadsheets and presentations, assisting with research projects, data analysis, report creation, data entry, and filing. The role requires effective verbal and written communication with all levels within the System and with the public.

Requirements

• High School, Undergraduate, Master's or Postgraduate enrollment required.
• Excellent planning, prioritizing, oral/written communication, interpersonal, problem solving, and team skills required.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and ability to respond creatively to a rapidly changing environment required.
• Computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties including patient and family visits, delivery of support services, studies, investigations, research projects, and other assignments.
• Provides administrative coverage of the office such as answering phone and maintaining computer data.
• Types documents such as letters and creates spreadsheets and presentations.
• Assists with research projects, data analysis, and/or creating various reports.
• Assists with entering data and filing.
• Communicates verbally and in writing with all levels within the System and with the public.
