About The Position

The City of Clearwater is seeking an intern to assist our Public Works Department in our Sustainability & Environmental Division in a variety of projects. Under the general direction of the Sustainability & Environmental Division Manager and Sustainability & Resilience Specialist, the Sustainability Intern will assist with projects, events and communications that support the city's sustainability, resiliency, and environmental initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled college student (graduate level, technical/vocational).
  • Valid State Driver's License Required
  • Ethical, hardworking, and strong desire to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred majors/concentrations include Sustainability, Environmental Studies/Science/Engineering/Law, Public Administration, or Urban Planning.
  • Experience can be personal or professional.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Sustainability Division in organizing, coordinating and conducting education and outreach events
  • Assist with grant writing and grant funded program development
  • Brainstorm and ideation for implementing strategies outlined in Greenprint 2.0
  • Research on sustainability topics as needed
  • Draft content for various communication materials such as newsletter, bill insert, social media posts, flyers and others
  • Perform administrative tasks such as meeting preparation, taking minutes, data entry, project progress tracking and evaluation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
