About The Position

This position reports to the facility maintenance manager or designee. The primary responsibility is to complete a variety of tasks to maintain assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition, in compliance with government and management directives. This role involves general maintenance and custodial work, including cleaning floors, bathrooms, and outside areas, as well as washing walls, windows, and ceilings. The intern will also dust furniture, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC equipment. Additionally, the role includes collecting and disposing of trash and debris, sweeping and cleaning exterior areas, and using basic cleaning compounds. The position requires reliability and a willingness to work evenings and some weekends.

Requirements

• Applicant must be a current Job Corps student.
• Must be a completer and ready for work-based learning.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Qualified students will, at a minimum, have their student card.

Responsibilities

• Keeping assigned areas clean and orderly in compliance with government and management directives.
• Cleaning floors, bathrooms, outside areas, and other assigned duties within the building.
• Washing walls, windows, ceilings, woodwork, and dusting desks, bookshelves, cabinets, and other office furniture.
• Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC equipment.
• Collecting and disposing of all trash, litter, and other debris on grounds, streets, and parking lots.
• Sweeping and cleaning exterior steps, entrances, landings, and sidewalks.
• Using basic cleaning compounds, waxes, and disinfectants as provided by supervision.
