About The Position

Works under general supervision to perform professional-level work related to degree that has been completed. To assist, receive training, and acquire working knowledge of each department's areas of responsibilities. This position is for a summer intern in the Heyward lab. Responsibilities will include reading scientific research papers, observing and learning about the research being done by the lab, attending regular meetings with the other summer interns in the center, putting together and doing a poster presentation over their assigned project. They will also be expected to perform minor routine duties in the lab as assigned, under the direct supervision of other lab staff. Specifically, she will be working with postdocs in the Heyward Lab, weighing mice and processing biological samples related to investigations of impaired homeostatic regulation of appetite following sickness. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Must be enrolled full-time in college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or better
• Graduate status

Responsibilities

• Reading scientific research papers
