About The Position

This is a year-round, part-time industrial engineering internship supporting Publix Manufacturing facilities, including Bakery, Dairy, Deli, Fresh Kitchen, Produce Snacks, and Printing Services. The intern will be based in Lakeland, FL, and will support local plants. The goal is to provide exposure to the day-to-day work of a full-time industrial engineer, working directly with Publix IEs on projects for manufacturing operations. This includes process improvement and standardization, time and motion studies, capacity planning, and analytical decision support. A flexible work schedule is offered to accommodate classes.

Requirements

• Junior, Senior, or graduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a closely related discipline.
• Ability to work 20 or more hours weekly.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation.
• Working knowledge of Excel.
• Desire and ability to pick up additional computer skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• A desire to learn and grow.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Access, Outlook, and Word
• Current or prior Publix work experience
• Prior internship experience
• Graduating December 2028 or later
• Ability to work 30 or more hours weekly.
